iScroll2 for iBooks

Have you ever been dying to have scrolling capabilities on your iBook trackpad?
This is now available (thanks Jason!) at the following link:

This little gem is called iScroll2 and allows everyone with an iBook to have two finger scrolling, vertical & horizontal, just like the fancy PowerBooks. Nice work, Daniel Becker.
P.S. This works great with Panther, but I expect Mr. Becker will be doing a quick update after Tiger comes out on the 29 th...

Apple acknowledges Mac OS X 10.3.9 Java issues

Apple has posted a support document that details a Java issue that some users are having after upgrading to Mac OS X 10.3.9. "After updating to Mac OS X 10.3.9, some systems may have issues with Java applications and Java-enabled websites when using Safari," Apple says. "Safari may unexpectedly quit, and standalone Java applications may unexpectedly quit or not launch. You can perform a simple test to verify whether your computer is experiencing this issue. If it is, you will need to reinstall one or two software updates to resolve the issue." The two pieces of software are Java 1.4.2 Update 2 or Security Update 2005-002

Adobe to acquire Macromedia for $3.4 billion

Adobe Systems today announced a definitive agreement to acquire Macromedia in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $3.4 billion. "The combination of Adobe and Macromedia will provide customers a more powerful set of solutions for creating, managing and delivering compelling content and experiences across multiple operating systems, devices and media. Together, the two companies will meet a wider set of customer needs and have a significantly greater opportunity to grow into new markets, particularly in the mobile and enterprise segments."
